I’m Mary, a woman of many hats and talents among which you can count: agile senior copywriter, lead content designer, service designer, strategist, and brand consultant. I practise the art of persuasion and engagement through strategy, tone of voice, patterns, story, gamification, experiences, and words. Working mainly in the digital transformation space, I’m proficient in every medium and sector. Clients come for the words and content design. They come back for the multidisciplinary, innovative, and lateral thinking I also bring to the table. So whether it’s a solo writer or a team that you’re after, I’ll bring the strategic and creative gravitas to your project that only a veteran can.

  • I’ve worked at the Department for International Trade during Brexit, helping businesses navigate the new realities of international trade. And at the NHS during the pandemic – leading on content and strategy for the COVID Pass project. A particular highlight was delivering a combined CX, service design and content strategy proposal as a fix for COVID Pass’ complex product and policy challenges. Other public sector work includes centralising management of roadworks for the Department for Transport, a new website for the Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority, and a research project site for the European Commission.
